Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Arusha
On arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport or Arusha Airport, a private transfer brings you to your accommodation in Arusha for dinner and the overnight stay.
Day 2: Tarangire National Park
After breakfast, the drive south takes around two and a half hours to Tarangire National Park. Game drives through the afternoon cover the Tarangire River area and the surrounding woodland and baobab savannah. Elephant concentrations are high year-round and particularly dense during the dry months. Lunch is served in the field before the drive to the lodge for the evening.
Day 3: Ngorongoro Crater to Serengeti
After an early breakfast, the descent into the Ngorongoro Crater begins. The caldera sits approximately 600m below the rim and covers around 260km². Formed two to three million years ago, it functions today as a self-contained ecosystem with high densities of large mammals and more than 500 recorded bird species. The game drive runs until early afternoon before the journey continues north and west into the Serengeti for the evening.
Day 4: Serengeti National Park
A full day in the central Serengeti, with game drives in the morning and afternoon. Lunch is served in the field. The Seronera region offers reliable viewing of lion, leopard, cheetah, and large herds of plains game. Your guide adjusts routing based on recent conditions and sightings.
Day 5: Serengeti to Karatu
After breakfast, game drives continue into the Serengeti morning before the drive south begins. The route passes through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area highlands on the way to Karatu. Transfer to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 6: Lake Manyara to Zanzibar
After breakfast, the morning covers Lake Manyara National Park: a compact park known for its birdlife and the tree-climbing lions documented in its acacia woodland. Lunch is served inside the park before the return drive to Arusha connects with the afternoon flight to Zanzibar. On arrival at Zanzibar Airport, a private transfer brings you to Nungwi on the northern coast. Days 7-8: Nungwi, Zanzibar Nungwi sits at the northern tip of Unguja island and is one of the few sections of the Zanzibari coast where tidal variation is minimal, making the beach swimmable at most hours of the day. The water is clear and the beach is wide. Optional activities including snorkelling, sunset dhow cruises, and deep-sea fishing can be arranged through the resort or in advance. Two full days at leisure.
Day 9: Departure from Zanzibar
After breakfast, a private transfer brings you to Zanzibar Airport for your onward flight.
