Who we are

About Zorani Expeditions

Zorani creates private African Journeys for travellers who want every detail thoughtfully handled. Our work centres on Uganda, Rwanda, Kenya, Tanzania and Zanzibar.

Plan your Journey

Our approach

Africa, entirely taken care of

Extraordinary travel should feel generous with your time—not demanding of it. You should not have to become an expert in Africa before you can experience it well.

That is where Zorani begins. We listen to what is drawing you here, then bring together the knowledge, relationships and practical details that make a private Journey feel natural from the moment you arrive.

The result is never a standard itinerary. It is time in Africa that feels spacious, personal and completely looked after.

What we plan

A Journey shaped around you

Zorani designs private Journeys around your dates, interests and natural pace. We also host select small-group departures for guests who prefer to share the experience. From the outset, we are clear about what each offers.

Some guests arrive with one clear wish: gorillas, the migration, a family celebration or time together after a wedding. Others simply know that Africa has been calling. Both are enough.

Our role is to turn that first instinct into a complete Journey—one with the right rhythm, the right people around you and no unnecessary decisions left on your shoulders.

How a Zorani Journey takes shape

A private Journey, made to feel effortless

01

We listen first

You do not need an itinerary. Tell us what matters to you, who is travelling and the kind of time you want to have.

02

We curate every element

Our team brings the right places, stays, guides, permits and connections together into one coherent Journey.

03

We make it feel easy

The important work happens before you leave, so you can arrive ready to be present rather than preoccupied.

04

We stay close

From the first conversation to your time in Africa, you have a team that understands the Journey and cares about how it unfolds.

Responsible travel

Responsible travel must be specific

Responsible travel is not a badge attached to an itinerary. It is a set of decisions that need to be made with care, then explained honestly.

Protected areas, conservancies, wildlife authorities, community organisations and lodges all operate through different models. A permit, park fee, conservancy fee or community visit does not mean the same thing everywhere. When one of those arrangements is relevant to a Journey, we aim to name the authority, partner or programme involved and explain the current context rather than making a broad claim about impact.

We do not tell travellers that their presence automatically creates a positive outcome. Conservation and community benefit depend on the people, institutions and agreements behind them. Our responsibility is to make considered recommendations, avoid careless claims and give travellers enough context to understand the choices they are making.

  • We avoid unnecessary movement and do not add stops simply to make a Journey look fuller.
  • We plan around current park rules, permit conditions and access arrangements.
  • We do not promise wildlife sightings, river crossings or a particular trek length.
  • Where a conservation or community claim matters, we seek a named source or programme behind it.

Context matters

Conservation and community context

Travel can sit alongside conservation and local economies in meaningful ways, but the detail matters. Gorilla permits are administered through wildlife authorities. Conservancies in Kenya work through specific land and tourism agreements. Community-hosted experiences need a clear host, purpose and format.

These are not interchangeable ideas. A Journey should not be described as conservation-led simply because it enters a national park or includes a permit. Nor should a community visit be included because it appears on a standard itinerary.

When travellers want a deeper understanding of these questions, we build the conversation around the actual place, authority or programme involved. The aim is not to turn conservation into an activity. It is to make the Journey more informed.
