Our story
Zorani began with an ambition to build a travel company that represents Africa from an African perspective.
Africa is often introduced to travellers through a familiar collection of destinations and wildlife experiences. These places deserve their reputation, but they tell only part of the continent's story.
Beyond the established safari routes are distinct landscapes, communities, histories and ways of life. Even within the same country, the experience can change considerably between regions.
We wanted to build a company that recognises these differences and approaches travel with the attention they deserve.
Founded in Uganda, Zorani draws its identity from the continent it represents. Our ambition has always extended beyond a single country or region, guided by a commitment to developing the destination knowledge, relationships and operational understanding needed to serve travellers well.
That ambition continues to shape how we work and how we grow.
The Zorani approach
Good Journeys begin with good decisions.
A well-planned Journey is not measured by the number of destinations visited or the price of the accommodation. It is measured by how well the experience comes together.
At Zorani, we consider the route, season, travelling distances, guiding, accommodation and time available before making recommendations.
We do not believe every destination belongs in every itinerary, or that the most expensive option is necessarily the most suitable. If a route involves too much travelling, a particular region is poorly suited to the season, or an alternative offers a better experience, we believe you should know.
Our responsibility is to offer clear advice and make recommendations based on what works for the traveller.
Private Journeys, planned around you
Our private Journeys are shaped around individual interests, preferred pace, accommodation expectations and the experiences that matter most.
Some travellers want to devote several days to wildlife photography. Others prefer a combination of safari, cultural experiences and time on the coast. The route, timing and arrangements should reflect those priorities rather than follow a standard itinerary.
Scheduled group departures
Our scheduled group Journeys offer a different way to explore Africa. They follow planned routes on fixed departure dates, with shared arrangements and a defined programme.
We place the same importance on sensible pacing, good guiding, appropriate accommodation and clear expectations, ensuring travellers understand the character of the Journey before joining.

Our current operations focus on Uganda, Rwanda, Kenya and Tanzania, including Zanzibar.
These destinations offer considerable variety, from gorilla and chimpanzee trekking in the forests of Uganda and Rwanda to wildlife safaris across Kenya and Tanzania, and coastal stays along the Indian Ocean.
Each destination requires a different approach to planning. Seasons influence wildlife viewing, distances affect how comfortably a route can be travelled, and accommodation location can make a significant difference to the time available for activities.
We bring these considerations into the planning process, helping travellers choose destinations and experiences that work well together.
While these countries form the foundation of our current operations, Zorani's outlook is continental. We intend to expand thoughtfully, developing the local relationships and operational knowledge necessary to maintain the standards we expect of every Journey.
