Trekkers Tavern Cottages

Trekkers Tavern Cottages is a rustic, family-run lodge high in Ruhija village, just a few minutes' walk from the gorilla trekking trailhead. The thatched, stone cottages have a warm, old-fashioned feel — wooden floors, thick duvets, and fireplaces or hot water bottles in the beds. Each cottage has a private bathroom. The lodge kitchen prepares hearty meals using local ingredients (often organic), and dinner is served in a communal dining room by lantern or candlelight. Guests gather by the wood-burning hearth in the main lounge. There is no Wi-Fi, but the peaceful garden and mountain view add charm. Trekkers Tavern is far from luxurious, but it is genuine and cozy.
