Bakiga Lodge

Bakiga Lodge is a community-owned, eco-friendly lodge in Ruhija, on the eastern side of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. It is run by a local NGO and uses solar power and rainwater harvesting. All profits go to fund village water projects. Accommodations are in wooden cabins set amid gardens, each with private balcony and en-suite bathroom. Deluxe cottages provide extra space. A restaurant terrace offers views over the valley and serves local and international dishes. Guests enjoy free Wi-Fi, a bar and a common lounge. The surroundings are peaceful: you hear forest birds and may catch glimpses of wildlife. Bakiga Lodge feels authentic and down-to-earth. It emphasizes sustainability and community impact, providing comfortable rooms without pretense in a serene mountain setting.
