3-Day Serengeti & Ngorongoro: Four Seasons Safari Lodge
Journey Overview
Three days is a constraint, not an ideal format. This journey is structured for travelers with a fixed short window who want Tanzania's two most recognizable wildlife areas without the compromise of a rushed single night at each. Two nights at Four Seasons Safari Lodge inside the Serengeti means game viewing starts on arrival rather than after a long transfer, and a full following day in the park before the move south to Ngorongoro. The format requires accepting real trade-offs: there is no Tarangire, no Lake Manyara, and limited flexibility when wildlife requires a longer drive than planned. Anyone with four or more days should consider the longer circuit options. For those with exactly three days available, this is the most efficient version of that trip.

Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival and Game Drive, Central Serengeti
Your guide drives you from Arusha to the central Serengeti (a transfer of around five to six hours with stops as needed). The Serengeti is Tanzania's oldest national park, covering 14,763km² of savannah, woodland, and riverine habitat. An afternoon game drive begins on arrival in the Seronera area, which holds significant populations of lion, cheetah, and leopard year-round. Dinner and the overnight stay are at the lodge inside the park.
Day 2: Full Day, Central Serengeti
A full day in the Serengeti, with early morning and afternoon game drives as the default structure. The central Serengeti is productive year-round, with large herbivore herds and reliable big cat sightings across the Seronera region. Depending on the season, migration herds may also be present. Your guide advises on timing and areas based on current conditions. A picnic lunch in the field or return to the lodge at midday are both options.
Day 3: Ngorongoro Crater to Kilimanjaro Airport or Arusha
The morning begins with the drive south to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and the descent into the crater. The caldera is approximately 20km across and 600m deep, supporting more than 25,000 large mammals in a contained ecosystem. The game drive runs through the morning before the ascent and the transfer to Kilimanjaro International Airport or Arusha, depending on onward plans.
