The Retreat at Ngorongoro

The Retreat at Ngorongoro occupies more than 60 acres near Karatu, looking towards the Ngorongoro Forest. Its restoration programme has introduced over 40,000 indigenous trees, creating a green setting for spacious, individually arranged cottages. Rooms combine king or queen beds with mosquito nets, fireplaces, private decks, writing desks, safes, twin washbasins and rain showers. Much of the produce served in the restaurant is grown on the property, with menus able to accommodate dietary requirements. Between safari days, guests can use the infinity pool, follow the jogging trail, cycle through the surrounding highlands or fish at the lodge lake. Ngorongoro Crater is stated to be about an hour away, with Lake Manyara closer.
