Travellers Rest Hotel
About Travellers Rest Hotel
Travellers Rest Hotel is a historic three-star lodge in Kisoro, famously known as Dian Fossey's "home away from home." The quiet property has a colonial-style atmosphere, with a stone fireplace in the lounge and local crafts decorating the walls. There are about a dozen rooms (single, double or triple), each with private bathroom and a mosquito net. Guests get a free full breakfast and can dine on simple Ugandan and continental dishes at the on-site restaurant and bar. Free Wi-Fi and parking are included. From the veranda you see views of the Virunga volcanoes (the lodge sits on a hillside). Travellers Rest feels low-key and comfortable — not a chain hotel but a neat family-run inn. It offers a warm, relaxing stopover for gorilla trekkers.
Travellers Rest Hotel sits within Mgahinga Gorilla National Park, Uganda. Our travel designers pair it with the itineraries below, or build it into a private safari around your dates.
