The Retreat

The Retreat is a 20-room boutique hotel in central Kigali, created by Heaven Rwanda and opened in 2018. Italian architects worked with Rwandan builders and technicians on the property, which now includes eight luxury pool villas. The hotel’s wellness facilities are unusually extensive for a small city stay: a solar-heated saltwater swimming pool, hot tub, sauna, spa, open-air gym and yoga deck. Fusion restaurant is located at The Retreat, with Heaven restaurant next door. Cultural activities can include cooking, cocktail making and neighbourhood experiences, while concierge-led city excursions connect guests with Kigali’s art, fashion, history and food. It provides a comfortable transition between international flights and Rwanda’s national parks.
